About Taj Mahal

History of Taj Mahal
The construction of white marble mausoleum started around 1632 and was completed in 1653, in which thousands of artisans and craftsman were involved. The monument reflects the architectural skill of architect Ustad Isa, a famous architect during the Mughal era, the one who designed Taj Mahal.
Architecture of Taj Mahal Inde
The spectacular features of the monument mesmerizes the visitors. The tomb is enhanced by the use of pure white marble, the exquisite ornamentation and precious gemstone. The decorative elements are created by applying paint, stucco, stone inlays or carvings. Semi precious stones embedded in the white marble shines in the night, when it catches the glow of the moon. The monument enjoys the picturesque location, surrounded by greenery of various plants and trees, along with the beautiful Mughal garden.
Graves in Taj Mahal
The word Taj Mahal means the 'Crown Palace'. Taj Mahal Inde treasures the g of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The grave of Shah Jahan was added later on.
